Artist Statement

The desire to create beautiful, wearable art has always been with me. Growing up in Southern California in the 80s, so close to Arizona, Nevada & Mexico, I was drawn to sterling silver and turquoise jewelry from a very young age. I always dreamed of one day becoming a Silversmith. As my jewelry-making skills progressed from Peyote-stitched hair wraps and beaded earrings sold at music festivals to assembling jewelry using wire, chain and pre-fabricated components, I eventually found my way to my one true passion: metalsmithing.

Using nature and music as my primary inspiration, I hand forge one-of-a-kind, small-batch jewelry collections meant for the individual who desires not only high-quality materials and skilled craftsmanship, but also an organic authenticity and soul in the jewelry they choose to purchase. My artistic interests have been drawn to the personal relationship people have with the jewelry they wear.

I love each stage of the fabrication process. I use sterling and fine silver to handcraft jewelry, combining traditional metalsmithing techniques with thoughtfully curated natural turquoise and Mexican fire opal. I use a torch and simple tools to infuse each piece with a rustic, earthy quality that reflects the touch of the two human hands that have passionately crafted each piece of wearable art. I immerse myself in every aspect of creation, from design and sketching to stone selection, soldering, fusing, reticulation, sawing, bezel-making, stone setting, filing, and polishing, ensuring that each piece is unique and cannot be replicated perfectly.

My intention is that my jewelry will become treasured heirlooms, serving as small reminders of the awe-inspiring beauty of the natural world, and our human need for connection, art and creativity.

My idea of a good time is a long hike in the woods and live music with my husband and business partner, Cary.
